  • Non-profit, non-sectarian, autonomous community development agency whose principal mission is to promote, develop, and enhance the quality of life in the urban Aboriginal community of Montreal.

  • The goals of the NWSM are to provide a safe environment where women can begin to rebuild their lives. They offer support and frontline services to Aboriginal women and children to promote their empowerment and independence.

  • McGill's First Peoples' House attempts to provide a sense of community and a voice to Indigenous students who have left their home communities in order to pursue higher education.

Student Groups

  • Provides integrative support for Indigenous peoples’ attending McGill University to connect and share our unique, authentic indigenous ways of knowing with each other and with non-indigenous peoples within the community.

  • A non-hierarchical social, political, informational and support service for queer students and their allies. Their office is a queer-positive safe space.

  • ECOLE aspires to be a space that facilitates a culture of sustainability at McGill University and its surrounding communities through research, teaching, experimentation, living practices, and collaboration with student and community groups.
  • Non-profit, student-run organization that unites McGill and Montreal communities in the fight for social and environmental justice through research, education, and by taking action.

  • Facilitates research collaborations between university students and grassroots community groups working for social change.

  • Providing alternative music, news and spoken word programming to the city and surrounding areas. CKUT volunteers program shows, announce, produce documentaries, conduct interviews, participate on committees, raise money, write radio dramas, solicit music and generally make CKUT what it is. 

Student Clubs

  • A SSMU service that is eligible to the entire McGill community. They have good lounge space and a great library!

  • Committed to increasing intercultural interaction between students and newcomer Canadians as well as advocating for the rights of refugees, asylum-seekers and immigrants.

  • Serves pay-what you-can vegan lunches on weekdays @ 12:30 pm @ 3600 McTavish. Their work serves as a political response to the increased corporatization and exploitative methods of mainstream food systems by creating alternative anti-capitalist practices and educational resources that empower individuals and communities.

  • CIRM brings together researchers from several Quebec institutions of higher learning for the purpose of contributing to a better understanding of the city through interdisciplinary research in areas such as the economy, health, language, governance, history, and culture. 

  • The SEI is an important vehicle through which the Desautels Faculty of Management integrates social entrepreneurship and social innovation more formally into its teaching, research and outreach activities. Across the globe, social entrepreneurs are applying innovative approaches to addressing social problems that have not been satisfactorily addressed by the public or private sectors.

  • The Redpath Museum is an academic unit of McGill University. Its mandate is to foster understanding and appreciation of the diversity of our biological, geological, and cultural heritage through scientific research, collections-based study, and education.
